  so....
Lunita is done.

Poll:

Album titles. Tell me what you think.

The Stories Mustn't Be Told (pathetic attempt at irony)
Did You See The Light Through The Smoke? (ehn...)
Songs from the Beat, or, Songs to Smoke to

Other ideas are more than welcome...I'm at a loss really.

Comments:
Songs to Smoke to I like. It seems like it most captures the mood of the music, and it sounds like music you'd sit around and smoke to.

You know, if it wasn't for that damn Beatles song, I'd name it "You're Gonna Carry That Weight." And the album art would have this pair of hands, reaching out like they were helping someone, and the same picture reversified and aimed toward heaven to show praising God. Really, I think it'd be a sweet album cover. I'm going to start working on it. The name is pending...probably won't have to do with smoking, unfortunately.

what about "Through the Smoke"? Brillaint, but already used by another leng, k.d. leng's "Drag".

Well, there's also this aspect of...well, do I really want to mess around with the idea that this needs to be an "album." There isn't really a theme to the collection of songs that I'm recording here. They'll all be up for download on soundclick, purevolume, and myspace, so there's no need to bring ink and paper into this. I don't have the necessary means for a decent looking album anyway, which is what I ultimately want to do. But I don't want to do it with a one-input m-audio box, a shure sm 57 and cakewalk home studio packaged without a mastering feature. I'd rather have a couple nice condensers, pro-tools and a nice input box with higher quality pre-amps. When I get the $ for that and the $ for a cd pressing and album sleeve, then there will be an official album. For now, things are going to be called The Beatnik Sessions. Done. Poll over.

I like it. I also like Lunita, gave it a listen. Gonna give it another.
